Thank you for taking the time to visit our Troop. As you already know, today’s youth have so many different challenges, especially now more than ever before, due to these challenges it is very important that they be taught principals and good leadership skills.
Scouting is an incredible way to learn, develop and grow. The skills that scouts learn include, first aid, wilderness survival, camping, cooking and most importantly, principals, self-reliance and leadership. These are skills and character traits the Scouts will with carry with them throughout their lives.
Our experience has shown that for a scout to advance and succeed, they need the support of their family. In general, those that advance and reach their goals within Scouting are the ones whose family becomes involved with the program. Scouting will be an investment of your time, but you will see your investment returned to you many times over as you enjoy the pride and satisfaction of all your Scouts future development and successes.
At troop 50 we are committed to these ideals and will work with your scout to obtain them.
Troop 50 is located in Lockport, Illinois. We are part of the Waapi Lenaswa (White Buffalo) District of Rainbow Council and has been in existence since 1987, but was re-chartered in December of 2007.
